Palm Springs

This past weekend was President's Day weekend so we we took a trip to Palm Springs with our good friends Sara and Dillon. It was a blast! We stayed at the Marriott Desert Spring Villas which was really nice. I loved how pretty the premises of the hotel were. And the pool was great too!

We only stayed in Palm Springs for two days, so we didn't do much other than lay out at the pool to soak up some rays and walk around downtown Palm Springs (which I have never been to before). We ate at this amazing Mexican restaurant and I had the best green enchiladas of my life. We ended our weekend trip with a stop at the Cabazon outlets and I scored on some great items for my wardrobe.

Overall, it was a fun weekend and now I am craving more friends trips!

A Friend's Wedding

December has been by far the busiest month! And it's not just because of the busy Christmas season. We have been busy with work, church callings, family events, and life in general.

Last weekend we attended our friend Jake's wedding. It was so fun to see some of our good friends come to town for it. We don't get to see them very often, so it was a treat! The highlight was going to a karaoke bar with the girls on a whim... We are pretty daring, I must say. But the best part was all being under the same roof, all 10 of us! It was an epic weekend for sure. We miss them already!

Montecito

We spent our Memorial Day weekend in beautiful Montecito for a couples retreat. It was the best time! I have only been to Santa Barbara once before this trip, but I didn't get to explore it as much as we did. It is a beautiful beach town with amazing houses. And there is so much greenery!

The whole weekend was spent relaxing, going to the beach, playing tennis, jacuzzi-ing, exploring downtown Santa Barbara, eating at amazing restaurants, and staying up late chatting. We had so much fun with our friends and so grateful they let us stay at their vacation home.

Hope your Memorial Day weekend was amazing! Now back to real life...

SoCal Ragnar

This last weekend I knocked off something on my bucket list - I ran the SoCal Ragnar relay race! It was a blast. But I would be lying if I didn't say it was tough. I was pushed to my limits, that's for sure!

We started in Huntington Beach and ended in San Diego. The distance we ran was a total of 200 miles. I was in Van 1 so we started at 6:15am on Friday morning. My first leg was 6.4 miles, second leg was 6.3 miles, and third leg was 3.7 miles (total 16.4 miles - but according to my Nike Run app I ran about 20 miles... not sure which is accurate!) We had a team of 12 girls who are all amazing. I am so lucky I got to spend time with them this last weekend. We definitely made some memories!

Red

A week ago a few friends and I attended the Taylor Swift "Red Tour" concert. It was a blast! Yes, I am a T Swift fan and I don't care who knows it! I've been listening to her music ever since she first started back in the day when she had crimped hair singing "Teardrops on My Guitar." My sister and I love to play and sing her songs. She's so great!

What I love most about her is how she is normal, unlike a lot of other artists out there. Her performance was incredible. I was so happy that she kept to high standards and didn't do anything that was uncomfortable to watch (unlike Miley Cyrus' performance on the VMAs this past weekend... wow). I think it's important to remember to stay classy and remember who you are. Whether you are an artist or an ordinary person, you should remember that your actions, dress, and appearance can have a huge impact on others. And that is my thought for the day.

But overall, it was probably one of the BEST concerts I've been to.

Go see her... you won't regret it! :)

Weekend Fun

I had an amazing weekend! It was very eventful. On Friday, I went to the BYU men's volleyball game against UCLA...we lost! :( It was sad, but our team isn't doing that great this year. I went with 3 of my cute friends Katelin Hink, Kylee Knoles, and Paige Chapman. We had so much fun. After that, we decided to go see BRIDE WARS which I absolutely loved! I am a wedding-movie fanatic. I love anything that has to do with weddings. And any movie Kate Hudson is in I will go see! Then on Saturday, I got up really early to go to the temple with my roommate Kristen, went to tap dance practice after that, a photo shoot after that, and then to the Indian Festival of Colors! (which was insane...imagine hundreds and hundreds of people throwing powdered colored chalk everywhere!) It was a very eventful yet crazy day...one thing after the other. But sometimes I like having those days because it takes your mind off school and allows you to relax and have fun! That night I went to bed at 10:30 because I was that exhausted! Overall I had a wonderful weekend...it was refreshing to have a great weekend after a hard week.

My cute friends kate and paige and I at the game...

Go BYU Vball!
