Life Lately

It has been several weeks since I have posted on here. Life has been pretty busy lately. The last few weeks we had General Conference (a semi-annual conference for my church), attended a wedding in Newport Beach for one of Dave's family friends, went to a fundraising event for OURrescue (a non-profit that helps with child trafficking), and had Stake Conference (another conference for my church). October is flying by!

I really can't believe this month is almost ending. It feels like it just started! The holidays are literally around the corner, and I don't think I'm ready for it. Why does life seem to go so quickly? Sometimes I think the reason for that is having a full-time job, which honestly can take a lot of time out of your life! Also, our weekends are usually jam-packed with events or travels. We rarely have weekends where we have nothing to do.

On top of all that, I recently started a Photoshop class at UCLA Extension to freshen up my graphic design skills. And I am loving it! Although it has been taking a lot of time out of my days. But I really enjoy being in school again. I get a sense of gratification working on assignments and being challenged. I know, I am weird.

That is basically our life lately in a nutshell. I promise I will be better at updating this thing. It is nice to have a record of life's happenings to look back to. Life is good!

Oh, and Happy Sunday!

October

Holy cow - October is here! Can you believe it? I was in denial the last few weeks that summer has ended, but after pulling out the fall decor and pumpkin candles last night, it definitely got me in the mood!

This month I am looking forward to eating pumpkin everything (can you tell I'm obsessed?), cooler temps, busting out cute fall outfits, and Halloween. October is a fun month, and I am looking forward to what it will bring!

PS - how cute are these DIY donut pumpkins from Studio DIY?

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! Oh, and Happy Fall! I can't believe it is officially fall already. Where did the summer go? I feel like this summer FLEW by. I wish I had more beach days and relaxing time, but I guess that's what you get when you have a full-time job, right? I am hoping I will get a lot of things crossed off on my to do list before the 2014 year comes to a close. This weekend, I will be catching up on a lot of those to do items. Looking forward to it!

Here's to a productive first weekend of fall!

Fall Updates

It has been quite some time since I have updated on this blog. Life has been really busy the last few months with my full-time job, church callings, and family events. One of the most difficult challenges for me is learning how to balance my life. But I am working on it. I am happy to get this blog up and running again and I hope to post more consistently!

A lot has happened in the last few months - Halloween, my niece Piper was born on October 5th, we said goodbye to our brother Will, and Thanksgiving. I have been loving this Fall season and can't believe it is going by so fast already.

Hello, Fall

Fall has officially begun. Yay! The other day I bought an amazing fall scented candle and I've been lighting it almost every day to get me in the "fall" mood. It has made my apartment smell amazing. Don't worry, it's only 90 degrees outside.

I have a good feeling about this season. We are planning several trips and hope to make it to Utah for a BYU game in October (that is a must for my husband). We would love to go cheer on our Cougs and see our family and friends. Plus, Utah is absolutely gorgeous in the Fall.

Let the Fall festivities begin!

Fall Festivities

I am so happy that it's fall time. I love this time of year. Dave and I have been so busy working, it has been hard to keep up the blog! But I am going to try and be better.

A lot a fun things have happened in the last few weeks. First, my younger brother Sean came home from serving his mission in the Dominican Republic! It was so fun to see him come down the escalator at the airport and cheer him on. It was a special moment that I will never forget. We had a blast staying home that weekend and spending time with my family. Family time is the BEST!

About two weeks ago, we spent the weekend in Arizona for Dave's best friend's wedding. It was great to be reunited with friends we haven't seen in ages. Since everyone is doing their own thing, it's nice to get together every once in a while! The wedding for Scott and Kylee was beautiful, and I especially loved the wedding party choreographed flash mob dance. It was epic.

That is as of late for now. More updates coming soon!

Fall and Pumpkin

Even though summer is my favorite time of year in Southern California, fall is definitely my favorite time in Utah.

I love Fall for these reasons:

1. The changing colors of the trees. Especially in Provo Canyon!
2. Halloween. I love Halloween. Decorating and making Halloween treats is the best part.
3. Boots. I love boots, and love that I can start wearing them again in the fall and when it gets cold.
4. Scarves. I have about a million. Great way to dress up an outfit.
5. Football games. Dave is a huge football fan, so we love going to support our BYU Cougs.
6. Weather. Not too cold, not too hot... until it snows.
7. Thanksgiving with the fam. I am always so anxious for Thanksgiving break to see my family!

But my FAVORITE part of Fall is pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING!

Only 1 box spice cake, 1 can pumpkin, and 2 cups chocolate chips = DELISH!

I must say this is one of my favorite things about Fall.

Happy Friday!

Getting Ready

So when I found out about the Halloween Half Marathon here in Provo, I couldn't help but sign up. I had been looking for half marathons around Utah County but just could not find the right one. Until I found this one! :) I mean, who wouldn't want to run 13 miles in your Halloween costume? I am so excited for this. I have been training for a little while now but REALLY need to step up my game in the next few weeks. As well as find a good costume. Ready, set, here I go!
