NYC - Week 3

This last week was catch up week since last weekend was taken over by my root canal fiasco. We went to this place called Artichoke on Monday night which was really good! They are obviously known for their artichoke pizza which is bomb. Thursday we went to a happy hour with Dave's fellow coworkers in his training. After that we tried this place called Luke's Lobster for a last minute dinner. They had a great lobster roll. Friday morning I went to the Today Show with my new friend Katie who I met here in the city (Dave and I knew her husband). We got free tickets to attend the Today Show where you stand outside the Rockefeller Center and see the news happening live. It was pretty cool! And luckily it wasn't freezing cold. We may or may not have been on TV! There weren't any celebrity sightings or performances but it was still fun to watch. After that, we walked over to Sarabeth's for breakfast. It was delicious! I have been to that restaurant before and it was great to try it again. I had their eggs benedict which was amazing. That night Dave and I met up with our friends Jenny and Jordan at Blue Smoke in downtown area. It was a barbecue restaurant and it was great! We love catching up with old college friends.

Saturday was a fun-filled day. We walked the High Line in the morning and took pictures. Then we went through Chelsea Market since Dave had never been. We almost ate there for lunch but decided on Dos Cominos in Chelsea close by and it was delicious Mexican food. I had an open-face shrimp quesadilla which was amazing and Dave had chicken tacos. We then walked through SoHo to shop around and find Dave a coat. We walked over to Washington Square Park which was so pretty and walked by NYU. The craziest thing was we saw Alec Baldwin, the actor! We had no idea if it was him but knew we were walking behind someone famous. Dave even ran into him and the stroller he was pushing! So funny. We then went home and rested for the night.

Overall, it was a great third week of our 7-week adventure!
