Weekend Trip to Delhi

As our 2nd weekend in India approached, we had the opportunity to travel to New Delhi and Agra, which is in Northern India, on a weekend excursion! It was so much fun. We stayed in a really nice hotel with normal toilets and showers (which I was so grateful for!) and ate really good food for breakfast every morning (taking a break from that curry) and went to the TAJ MAHAL! It was amazing. I never thought I would come here! The only thing that really sucked was when I got really sick hours before we took off for Delhi. I had nausea for 3 days straight... not fun! It finally went away after riding an elephant. Did you know that when the trunk of an elephant is up it means "good luck"? You learn something new every day!

On our first day in Delhi, we rode these rigshaws, which are those bikes that pull carts. It was so fun! It only costed 200 rupees, which is 4 bucks! Of course it's worth it!

Carly and I on our rigshaw... we were laughing so hard because our biker could barely pull us along!

One of my favorite things in India was the fruit stands.

This is what the ally looked like that we rode through. I have never felt so claustrophobic! We felt like we were going to hit people on the side of us, or even cars that were driving by! It was as wide as a normal high school hall way. Oh man it was scary!

Spice market. It smelled pretty strong... and I was especially sensitive to is at this point since I was extremely nauseous. However, India is known for its flavorful spices and curry. I had to take a picture!
